If you’re starting a new business, one thing you’ve probably heard of but don’t know much about just yet is buyer personas. So what are they?

Buyer personas are fictional, generalised representations of your ideal customers. They are designed to help you help you in marketing, sales, product, and services, and they assume the ideal customer we’re trying to attract and relate to our customers as real humans.

To create the right set of buyer personas, you need to conduct research on your target audience, looking closely at demographics, whilst also attributing more personal details, such as whether they’re earning an above satisfactory income, the size of their house and their hobbies. When you can put together buyer personas, you can better target your content for the right audience, and this is rolled in out in all of your marketing communications, such as letters, emails, product packaging and social media updates.
